Hi, my name is Karl-Heinz. My main focus is abstract photography.
I currently live in Berlin, Germany.

I have been working as an art photographer since 2017, with exhibitions in Brandenburg, Germany, and the Algarve, Portugal. Previously, I worked on climate and nature conservation, particularly the preservation of the Amazon rainforest.
In my work, I explore the space between abstract urban and natural landscapes, between south and north, between ecstasy and reduction. A central geographical focus is the Algarve in Portugal, whose light and colors are captured in exuberant, almost eruptive compositions. In contrast, my work from the metropolis of Berlin is sometimes characterized by gray winter landscapes, muted tones, and a deliberately restrained visual language.
My spectrum ranges from maximalist explosions of color to minimalist black-and-white compositions dominated by surface, rhythm, and emptiness. Through techniques such as Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and multiple exposures, landscapes are liberated from their static form: they begin to move, to resonate, to speak, to unfold over time.
The landscape functions not as a depictable place, but as an emotional space for resonance. Blur, movement, and atmospheric dissolution visualize the instability of seeing itself and point to perception as a subjective, fragile process. In this consistent departure from the documentary, the boundaries between photography and painting are deliberately subverted and questioned – in favor of a visual language that shows less than it makes palpable.
